PuraTerms of Service

Welcome to Pura. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Pura mobile app and website (together, the "Service"), operated by Blackline Labs ("Pura," "we," "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.
1. What Pura does
Pura lets you scan a product, its barcode, or its label to see an explanation of its ingredients or materials, flags for substances that may be of concern, a 0–100 clean-safety score, and suggested alternatives. The Service is an informational tool.
2. Not medical, health, or professional advice
Pura's scores, flags, and explanations are general information to help you make your own choices — they are not medical, health, safety, or professional advice, and are not a definitive determination of any product's safety. Do not rely on the Service to diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. For specific health concerns, consult a qualified professional.
3. Accuracy and data sources
Ingredient and material information comes from product labels, public databases, and published research, and is cross-referenced against publicly available safety information. This data can be incomplete, out of date, or contain errors, and product formulations change. We do not warrant that any score, ingredient list, flag, or explanation is complete, accurate, or current, and you use the Service at your own discretion.
4. Not affiliated with the brands shown
Pura is independent. Brand and product names are used only to identify the products you scan. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any brand or manufacturer referenced in the Service, and nothing here is an accusation of wrongdoing by any brand.
5. Accounts
You're responsible for your account and for keeping your login secure. You must provide accurate information and be old enough to form a binding contract in your location.
6. Subscriptions and payments
Pura is free to download. Some features require a paid subscription, billed through the Apple App Store under Apple's terms. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends; manage or cancel them in your App Store account settings. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable — refund requests are handled by Apple.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service — including reverse-engineering it, scraping or bulk-extracting its data, reselling its content, or using it unlawfully.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including our scores, methodology, and content, is owned by Pura and protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use it. You may not copy or redistribute our data or scores.
9. Your content
If you submit content (such as a photo of a label), you grant us a licence to process it to provide and improve the Service. You confirm you have the right to submit it.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pura is provided "as is," and we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Pura against claims arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.
12. Changes and termination
We may update these Terms or the Service at any time; continued use means you accept the changes. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States of America, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
